This natural hybrid was originally collected in Ecuador by Padre Andreetta as Tillandsia cyanea (now, Wallisia cyanea) hybrid. We acquired a plant in April of 1997.
it is possible that this is a cross with Wallisia pretiosa, as the plant is larger than cyanea. The other parent maybe Wallisia lindenii (T. umbellata).

This hybrid usually only makes one offset, so it is difficult to propagate.
