I found this species with Werner Rauh in 1988. It had such a strange growth habit, that we called it T. heteromorpha 'Rope Type'.  This rare and unusual plant has a very tight and narrow shape.  It resembles a small piece of rope. Short inflorescence, pink bracts.  Published in 2005 as T. tomekii.
