There are several forms of the species Tillandsia xiphioides. This form has thick, silvery-white leaves. The peduncle is 8-10 cm long, longer than most forms of T. xiphioides. It produces up 4 -6 large, fragrant white petals with a lavender blush on the undulated edges of the petals.

This subtype of Tillandsia xiphioides has now officially been recognized as it’s own species.
