Tillandsia streptocarpa is a variable species from Brazil, Ecuador and Peru.  Some forms have very few narrow leaves and others have thick semi succulent leaves.  This clone is large with many leaves and 30-40 cm tall in bloom.  It produces numerous fragrant flowers. The flowers are larger than most other forms and they are very dark purple. The foliage is thick, succulent and covered with dense trichomes.
