Simple inflorescence, from Oaxaca, this species was called T. jalisco-monticola, Oaxaca form, for many years. It was finally published as a species in 2009. It is frequently confused with T. jalisco-monticola, but this species has a long scape with a single spike, which is not as inflated as that of T. jalisco-monticola, and narrower leaves.
