Tillandsia latifolia is an extremely variable species group. This form, Tillandsia latifolia var. leucophylla has thick succulent leaves which are covered in scurf. The rosette is open and the leaves strongly recurve. It is a slow growing species and will produce only one offset, sometimes two per plant.  The inflorescence is pale orange and slightly pendent.  Ours are propagated offsets from a few plants that were collected in 1988.
