This natural hybrid, (Tillandsia concolor x streptophylla) from Mexico, has been in cultivation since the 1970's.  There is also an artificial hybrd which was made by Mark Dimmitt, in the '70's.  Both clones are almost identical, with a semi-bulbous base and leaves that have the feel and consistency of T. streptophylla.  The inflorescence has several upright branches with a strong red coloration at the base fading to pale green.
