This is a complex hybrid using the natural hybrid Tillandsia ehlersiana X seleriana and pollinated with T. seleriana.  I made this cross in 1989 and it took many years to mature and bloom. Since then I have been propagating it from offsets. It grows much larger than either parent. It has a bulbous base and is heavily covered with a white scurf, as is T. ehlersiana. The inflorescence is branched and pink with light purple petals.
