This unusual hybrid was made by Australian hybridizer Barry Genn using Tillandsia carminea as the seed parent and T. recurvifolia v. subsecundifolia as the pollen parent. The grey-green foliage is covered with silver trichomes. The leaves are thick and curving. The simple inflorescensce is arching with carmine-pink scape bracts and lilac flowers.
