Tillandsia caput-medusae'Robust' is a cultivar of T. caput-medusae. This was found in Mexico many years ago, and is geographically isolated population of the species. As the name suggests it grows quite large. Blooming plants are 18 - 24 inches tall. In strong light the bloom is red with violet petals. It's dark green succulent foliage has fine trichomes.
