Tillandsia caput-medusae has a wide distribution range and can vary quite a bit. Most have thick succulent leaves which are grey-green to dark green in color. They all tend to have red colored spikes. There are a few isolated populations which have grey almost white colored foliage and pink spikes. That is the case with this form.
