This unique Tillandsia species was published in 1981 by Professor Werner Rauh. It is indigenous to Ecuador, an epiphyte found between 500 - 800 meters. Beautiful dark green upright foliage covered with dark violet spots. The pendulous inflorescence has a single (sometimes branched) spike.
