This Koide hybrid uses Tillandsia chiapensis as the seed parent and a pink form of T. capitata (Chiapas) as the pollen parent. This form of T. capitata from the state of Chiapas is pink rather than the typical red color. The plant has rose-pink colored foliage, even when not in bloom. When blooming the short chiapensis-like spikes emerge from the typical capitata inflorescence.  The leaves are covered with fine white trichomes, but are soft and recurve into an open rosette.
