Dark maroon-red foliage with yellow-orange spike. This epiphyte is found growing from Panama to Columbia at elevations of 300 - 1800 m. It is variable, in that the foliage can range from green to dark reddish with dark wine colored spots. It grows in humid forests, and therefore you do not want to let it become dry. The edges of the leaf are undulated creating an unusual shape. It makes many offsets long before it blooms. The inflorescence is simple, erect to slightly de-curved. It can range in color from yellow, to light-orange, to orange-red. This is a great plant for terrariums and prefers good water. (RO water)
